Fun with the cops
After the GTG, Alex and I went back to his place for lunch and then test drove each other's cars. I was driving his 993 as we entered an on-ramp where two young cops were doing a seat belt check.
So one says to me, "we are just doing a seat belt check today", and the other one chimes in and says "and we wanted to stop your car so we could have a look at it [with a huge smile on his face]". I responded that "i wouldn't go out without wearing my seat belt in a car like this." And the second cop says "yeah, you need one in a fst car like this." Then the first one says "what year is this, a '97?" to which replied "dead on."
As we drove away, I told Alex that we need to go back and get my car and then go back through the seat belt check again. So we aked them to guess what year my car was, to which the fist cop replied "What the hell are you guys doing?(wonding where all these cars were coming from)" We told him we were stealing Porsche's from the neighbourhood and our trailer was just around the corner. They both laughed, and the first one again guessed the correct year of my car and then said "Air cooled all the way baby." Now this is a well informed cop. Then he says "let's hear this thing go, no wheel spin, just exhaust." The cop wanted to hear that wonderful 3.2 engine note and wanted us to gun it as we drove away. We of course obliged as we are not ones to mess with the law.

Pffff....
Only difference being we were not braking any laws at the time of our conversation. Did you get Pointts (or the like) involved yet? Did you set a court date? Have you ordered disclosure?
I've done nothing yet other than set a court date. And BTW Mr. police officer filed within 11 days of the offence so I can't play that card. It really boils down to knowing someone that can get you off. Anybody? Have money, will pay?
What do you mean by "Mr. police officer filed within 11 days of the offence so I can't play that card" What did he file?
By law the officer has 11 days to formally submit / file your ticket with the courts regardless of your decission. If he fails to meet that deadline your charge will be dismissed regardless of whether he shows up. If you intend to challenge the officer in court make sure you don't go to the courts before 11 days and insist on seeing the original ticket to determine the "file date" stamp. More that 11 days from the offence date = case dismissed.
