epoxy is good and takes a beating, tiles with heat is even better, you get thoose industrial things, they sure take a beating, my boss has thoose in his garage, ours is slightly less fancy, but huge

spilled oil, brake fluid, coolant etc... sure takes a beating just get the floor cleaner, spray on, and push it out the gate.

someone should cut up melt old tires to make a floor product for garages. I don't drive my 911 in winter so bare concrete works for me for now. I just put some foam pieces under it as turbos suggested years ago. thanx Eshel

it's made in denmark (I think), the brand is "stenhöj" it's close to 1800lbs.... we spent weeks planning howto get it in, nearly crushed my boat while doing it but its good once it's in! 8x20mm bolts at bottom, and 14x14mm at top, aprox 15cm into concrete... hope it doesnt fall.

found these tiles online and it's a local place http://www.fastflor.com/photo_gallery. Anyone know or use these? Like that they have drainage and I very much like the $1.95 a sq/ft price.

I'm reviving this thread again rather than start a new one. Looking at Racedeck FreeFlow. Anybody have a contact where it is supplied locally at a reasonable price? How about any other alternatives?
Thanks

I've been packing my garage for the last week as we are moving.

I cannot believe how much dust there is from the concrete floor!

Next garage with have a real floor!

I have an epoxy coated floor, and think it is pretty good. With a black car, I noticed right away the reduced dust in the garage.

As mentioned before, with an older garage, prep work is the key to a lasting floor...that and not driving on it until it is FULLY cured..not just dry to the touch. (don't ask how I know that)

I helped a friend put a two part epoxy system in his garage a month ago and the two of us put it down in a couple of hours. He bought it at Costco and paid about $180 for a 1 1/2 garage. Looks really good.

I think that an industrial grade coating would be a good way to go. I've seen hundreds of warehouse floors coated in epoxy, and they really take a beating and still look great. They aren't cheap, and an intense prep (shot blast or grind, and fill) is required for a proper install.

I installed tiles early last year and so far they are holding up well. I would say the biggest challenge is if you turn the wheels hard the tiles will move and sometimes get damaged. Tiles are very easy to replace with the interlocking system. I have an oversized 3 car garage and paid more than $180.00..........

I just had epoxy done by Amorpoxy. Costly as opposed to doing yourself (I do not have the patience). I did consider Racedeck, Norsk & Amorpoxy's Supratile but since there are slight waves in my concrete floor I was worried the tiles would not site flat.
Here is what it looks like now:

I have heard it is a good idea to mix some sand with the epoxy so it is not so slippery...just wanted to share, my garage is not coated.

In addition to throwing purty flakes over the painted surface I also got to throw gritty stuff.

I debate this every week - epoxy or tiles, epoxy or tiles... The new garage was completed in May and yet still on the fence.

Interestingly enough, a friend posted this on FB - she had it done for her new husband; they live in Calgary. Looks incredible. Costly as they wanted it done right - they have no skills, lol - so a contractor was hired. Maybe this will make the call once and for all.
