Ball Joint: Pin Wrench Socket
Rennlist Member
I'm starting my wish list for early spring: ball joints & Polybronze A-arm bushings
I'd like to avoid buying this one-use tool but I will gladly 'rent' it.

When I replaced the ball joints on my SC a few years ago I used a socket that CDN Tire sells. It's sold as a 4x4 tool or something like that, and it worked really well. It was something like $15 if I remember right.
I know UAP carries a similar tool.
To keep pressure on the socket when I was turning it, I put a floor jack under it and put some pressure on the socket/ratchet.
I had to cut the old nuts off with a Dremel, but you will need the socket to install/torque the new ones.

One post mentioned: FW Bearing Lock Nut Socket - 66.5mm X 80mm, 1/2" drive.
