Would be a lot of fun. Though I'd have to run it in someones else's car. A Cayenne Turbo would kick *** in it.

that would be pretty cool.....a 996 C4S or turbo would also kick ***, afterall, isn't that why they jack up the ride hieght on US spec cars so much

It's on my life's to-do list. Fortunately, it's also on my dad's, and he's got better funding than I do! Believe it or not, my wife is interested, too. Ask Ernie at Mantis to tell you about his adventures and you'll be tempted to sign up right away!

I am seriously thinking about this for 2009, and wil buy something suitable for the purpose. It is a car breaker of an event..(the program sure got that right), so I will think about the right car...something used..Maybe a Subaru WRX or some sort fo Audi Quattro. Will do the touring category...it sounds like a blast!....

Ahhhhh crap, I missed that. Anyone record it?

Ronan, yeah I think a WRX would be a great choice or an older S4?

Interestingly enough, the first AWD entered in the 2007 Targa Newfoundland finished in 8th position...
Maybe my Supercharged VR6 would do well there...

Older cars will do better than newer cars in the Targa because of how the times are set. A Cayenne Turbo would be a poor choice for a tarmac rally car. Too heavy and too big for the small twisty roads of the Targa. A properly prepared, 70's 911 has shown to be a competitive car (Glen Clarke won in 06).

I was about to say a R32 would be a good car, and given the quality of your rebuild your engine would do great.

I just finished downloading 2dvd's about this guys quest to ride the Paris to Dakar Rally. Really interesting, I'll upload it

Most of the winning cars are older shells with new(er), much more powerful, engines.

Hmmn, I wonder what category a 93 968 with an LS6 would fit in? Probably somewhere between modern and ridiculous I suppose.

I taped it. Crappy quality - but I got it.

Happy to lend it to anyone who wants it.

Or - do we get together at Omar's new HT and watch it together??
