OT, Propane tank help
I need some help with my new (to me) 100 lb propane tank which I use to heat my garage. Is there a simple way that I can tell how much propane ids left in the tank without buying a guage?

Hi Paul, if you know the weight of the tank before and after the fill you can determine fow much is left in the tank.

Take some close to boiling water and pour it on the side of the tank ... it should show were the level is ... or get a sticky guage and place it near the bottom of the tank.

If you are using a construction heater that is not vented to the outside I would strongly suggest NOT using it. Unvented heaters vent CO into its environment. Without proper ventilation you are putting yourself and family at risk.

Mark,
Taking the weight is what I'm trying to avoid but it would be the most accurate.
Jack.
I'll try the water idea and see what happens.
Where can I get the sticky guages to try them? My cousin mentioned this to me but he didnt know where to find them either.

I thought Canadian Tire carried them , but it may be a seasonal thing. Jamie would know for sure .. if he can break away from all that sun in Florida .. :-(
Why not just get an old bathroom scale and leave the tank on it.
