Are you sure you didn’t leave something on, like an interior light, position light, etc that drained your battery. Batteries rarely fail like you’ve described, they always show some sign of weakening before they fail. Usually, really cold weather will finish off a dieing batter. OR you might have a slow drain in the car that discharges the battery when the car is not running.

My ’00 VW Jetta (TDI) had the original battery when I bought it @ 200K kms and it died shortly after that. So German OEM batteries can last a while. Bought a CT (Motomaster) replacement that had about 160Kkms and 3 years on it.

You are right, can get really good batteries at the wreckers. I bought several from there too but have to check the manufacturing date, or else you can end up with an old battery.

Yeap, pretty sure I didn't leave anything on....lets see how long this new one lasts.
Also purchased the battery charger, and have is plugged in when Im not driving the car for longer then 2 days or so.....fingers crossed!!!
