I was lucky enough to test drive one here in Montreal a few weeks ago and damn what a sweet sweet machine! You're lucky to have tried it at higher speeds though, I only got to drive it around town since the dealer was so centralized...
Oh man...."Holy ****" hahah better brakes than your turbo?
I love the sound when you shift gears, it sounds like a bolt-action rifle. So the question is, do you like it?
Edit: What song is that again?
Not better brakes they come on way too hard way too early. You touch the brakes on the R8 its as if you depressed the pedal in the Porsche all the way down.
Ofcourse I like it, but not for 150k I'd rather have a 997 TT for that money.
I saw a conmparison of the R8 to a C4S. Straight line they were even, track they were even. The R8 looked a little more stable at high speeds going around corners. Mid engine vs rear engine.

I don't hink it would compare to a turbo.
Seat of the pants the R8 is slower than my 996 turbo pre chip.
But it may be as fast as TurboDans car.
That's a fantastic looking car -- today. Only time will tell if it will survive to be appreciated as a great, classic sports car with enduring appeal, or whether it will be a gaudy looking thing like a _______ (fill in the blank with your favorite Super Gauche Anti-Classic!).
