Mark, sorry I missed you. I did meet your friend though (Black vette with the firefighter motif in the engine bay.) The vette club is very low maintenance and inviting - great group.

re. the "security" at the Porsche corrral, IMHO that was ridiculous. I asked what that was all about and was told "that's the policy with IMSA." Right...

I was the one that posted the laughable/pathetic F-Car corral play by play last year in the racing/DE forum. This year, looks like PCA decided they wanted to be the dorks...

Oh well. Great race.

Cheers~!

were cars actually keyed?
I parked outside the pcar corral as I arrived at 1:30 and figured too late for lunch and wanted to watch turn 2 and 5. great vantage points, what a great track for spectators (and drivers)

Turbodan, none that i know of. I think it was an excuse to be tight on the "gate".

I can see why they wouldn't want folks off the street just wandering around.
However, in Marks case were he was coming to visit a friend wasn't very cool.

I did feel safe leaving my car and go wandering off to other areas where i probably wouldn't if "random" strangers were walking around.

I don't agree.
I'm sure if you came in with a member they would let you browse around.
They did turn a lot of people back. I felt very comfortable leaving my car (and cooler) there while I wandered around.
Remember this is our corral and not a car show.
I did notice the Vette corral wide open, but it didn't look like anyone was going in.

Actually, that was exactly the problem. The fellow with the orange 997 GT3RS was trying to personally escort his friend around, to no avail. And that was a bummer for me too as I was not able to meet a fellow Rennlister as planned... I guess my frustration stems from the insular attitude. Most of us drive our cars, and have been know to even park them in public places... this to me was no different.

PS - the Z06's next door were looking mighty fine, IMHO.

PPS - was your the low mileage red Carrera with the tan sport seats? If so, sweet ride.

Cheers~!

Matt,

Sorry I missed you as well ... Ray mentioned that there was someone from the Rennlist looking for me ... I would have visited the Porche Corral more often, but I didn't want to risk the Count kicking me out again ... so I opted to stay over in the Vette section.

I try to make as many GTG in the GTA's as possible, so the next time you are there, look me up!

Take care,

Mark

That's like saying "your wife is hot" only to find out he's married to the "larger" one.

Mine has high mileage with black sport seats and tail.
