Eric.....

IIRC from memory it goes something like this for race cars.......you'll need a letter from the sanctioning body where you are licensed, and under whose rules you intend to race it. This letter must say that the car in question is a race car and complies with their classes and rules as such.

Other than that.....I don't think there is much to it.

Just curious about the import duty of 6,1% for cars built outside NA (and over 15 years old), is it calculated on the actual price paid or on a book value of some sort?

Ya, usually the bill of sale is not enough. They want to see an ad. For me they actually looked online for the ad, so don't try to pass a fake bill of sale because they actually do search.
