Well it all depends on what purpose you intend to use it for. I have been riding for 8 yrs now my Seadoo GSX-RFI. I love it because it is a great all round boat for everything and the RFI (fuel injection) gives about 35% better gas milage over a carburated one. No lying either... I have stuck with a Seadoo as apposed to other makes simply because of better design and reliability. Another good model is a 2003 XP-DI. It is a 1000cc 2 stroke with a deeper V hull and shock on the seat which makes great for big waves beeing much easier on you back. There are so many to chosse from.... how much do you want to spend? I have a friend looking to sell a Seadoo RXP, paid 17k, wants 12K. Man I could go on and on about them but you should try a couple out if you can to see what suits you. I'm more than willing to let you try mine if you want. You can pick one up with low hrs for about 4500-5000 Can. I pay $150/yr under my house insurance for liability only. A far as the licensing you can do it online and it's not to difficult if you study the boaters manual for testing. Main thing is remembering the bouy markers what they mean.

This is what mine looks like.

Injection came out in 99' They only built my kind a couple years which is wierd because all my friend say they should have never stopped it. Kijiji has lots for sale as well. Check it out.

The XP is a great hull like I said and a friend of mine with a 2003 XPDI would more than be happy to let you try it as well if I asked I'm sure. Like I said I would not decide untill you've ridden several models to see what suits your style or you will be very unhappy when you do try one out that is better for you and want to sell again.
