Hi everybody
I took my 2002 C4S for what I thought was just 2 slow leaks repair.
The tire guys at the shop took the tire off, and called me over
to see why I had the slow leak: the outter rim was splitting
from the center piece!!
Not only the driver's front, but the two rear wheels also!
All 3 !!
The rims are OZ Super leggeras 19" - in the pictures.
Can anyone recommend any rim repair shop in or around Toronto
or Mississauga?
I used to think these wheels were solid enough even for the track.
I have not hit any pot holes or anything.
I occasionally accelerate hard, or corner a little hard, but nothing that would cause a rim to split!!
John

I am fairly certain those rims are manufactured out of Montreal Que. so I would think your best bet would be to get them sent there to be reparied. I know for certain that Touchette Tires Sells (link provided below) and Repairs them. A lot of Rennsport folks have bought those rims (18 inch) and they drive them hard without any problems. They are very nice looking wheels and I would expect them to hold up to track use that is for sure.
I'm not sure if it would help you but Touchette Tires will be in Calabogie on July 30th, 31 and Aug 1 for a Rennsport DE. They are our (Rennsport) Tire Support on track both in Tremblant and Calabogie. Good luck and sorry to hear about the problem.

Hi John,
Try Collision Networks in the HWY 7 & Jane area (905)669-1665. I went there to have a bent rim straightened last year and they do a ton of repairs/refinish on high-end wheels.

if you have 3 of 4 wheels coming apart this is obviously not a one off deal , you have manufacturing or design issues .. I would be throwing those things in the garbage ... if the manufacturer would not take them back.

Wow. I was contemplating the OZ line before I purchased my current BBS rims. I'm glad I got the BBS instead. Sorry to hear.
Call Steelcase Tire and Mag for info on repairs.

Are you in the beaches? (picture looks like it) I may want to sell my 996tt stock wheels (18") if you are interested. good luck with the OZ, I also thought they were supposed to be good wheels. definitely the manufacturer should fix them!

Your model rims are Superleggera III. I used to own a set of cast 18" Superleggera (difference is the III's have the bolts on the side and are forged so should be stronger) and after a couple years of downtown Toronto driving, the wheels became bent. I guess it was to be expected since running low profile tires on cast rims, but your III's are forged and should be a lot stronger.
My old Superleggera's became bent out of shape on 2 seperate occasions (yes even after the first time they were fixed and straightened!) Had the body shop contact carcone.com and pick them up for repair. The first time Carcone did an excellent repair, straightened out the rims and fixed some curb rash and matched the paint. The second time Carcone also got my business for straightening bent rims. Usually they are very busy and thus possibly were rushing this job. The result was a slow leak caused by a not 100% straightened rim.
As for Collision Networks, one of the owners (Steve I think his name was?) gave me loads of attitude one time when I came in for scheduled appointment. They were obviously very busy and understaffed, but there was no need to get angry at a customer for arriving at his scheduled time. Needless to say, took my business elsewhere.
Hope that helps

Thank you all for being helpful.
There are no cracks or bends in the wheels.
They do have nuts and bolts, and I they may simply need to be
tighten right where the slow leak is.
I will shop around, and report back on what the exports will say.
TurboDan could you tell me how much you are selling them for?
You guys are great!!
I hope to make it up to you (perhaps drinks, music and girls?)
Thanks
