Folks ... there is a website where one can order "Support Our Troops" stickers, T's etc. and is being run by CANEX; the prices are very reasonable. I have ordered over $40 worth of stuff.
Show you care ... show your decals!!!

Does anyone remember how we ended up there in the first place?
I mean, i've seen all the reports and intel and stuff and I know what the mission is now...but why were we there to begin with?
EDIT: Actually..someone just PM me the answer to that one...i dont want to take the thread too far off topic since this thread is about supporting the troopes.

I know I will , that is why i appologized.. I just think Canadians are world renowned as being peacekeepers, not taking sides, now we have snuggled up next to the US and bowed to political pressure.

gonna have to disagree with you on that one bud.
canada's been kicking *** for quite some time (WWI, WWII, korea..i think? probably not, but in other places as need be)...only difference is we used to go on our own.
Afghanistan we can do some good in though. Iraq is a cluster**** of biblical (Quranic?) proportions for reasons i'll be more than happy to discuss in person, but not online since it usually degenerates into an online dick swinging competition that i'm not going to take part in.

yeah...honestly..enough with the brainwashed canadian liberal whining..the worlds borders have always been drawn by wars and the people willing to fight them so the rest of us dont have to. now we have people in the world bent on spreading hate, intolerance and pain. i guess in your opinions ( and wussy man jack laytons) we should negotiate instead of fight...well guess what..how do you negotiate with people who will kill you for being a non believer and think stoning women and homosexuals to death is a ok. shut up and thank a soldier

CANEX.......it means Canadian Forces Exchange.......I was in the army for 6 years and we shopped there all the time. There is one on every base. Sorta like a military version of Wal-Mart.

The current deployment is a commitment within the NATO construct and the nature of each country's participation is based on the political reality of that country. The ISAF (international security assistance force) is comprised of about 8000 troops from mostly 36 NATO countries as well as 10 or so other countries and duties include Provincial reconstruction teams, assisting the National Army and providing security in Kabul. That in a nutshell.

Sorry to say....he won't win. The Liberals phucked up by making him their leader. The Harvard professor had a way better shot at taking the next election. Us westerners are now a force to be reckoned with.....and Dion will never get our votes....

^ agreed. Liberals will be out of power for a while...until the next batch of liberals grow up and some new faces make it to the top. I'm not even sure trudeau Jr. will pull it off. he's likeable yes....but nothing like his old man. hate pierre trudeau's politics if you want..but you gotta love the antics...he's probably the most well known canadian pm globally...a canadian kennedy so to speak (cept with much better luck).
Harper's making good moves, with a couple of mistakes yes.....but so far its business as usual but efficiently. What impresses me most is how much of a nutbuster he is with his staff and various bureaucrats. If you expect to laze about or arn't ready to work...packup and go home. I like that.
