Default Pfaff: another rant I have to get of mychest

So I call them up to make an appointment to have my hood emblem replaced, an oil change and to look and the check engine light and the rattling catalic converter. They can't book me in and make me wait 2 1/2 weeks.
So I wait
Today I drive in at 7:45, 2 guys in line before me though they did not drive into the service door so my car actualy was in the building 1st, though I was 3rd in line.
4:30 rolls around and I am wondering why they havn't called. I call them and they say that still havn't diagnosed the engine light. I asked them what the've been doing for the 8 hours the have had my car and question them as to why they provide such poor service.
Why the F would I wait 2 1/2 weeks bring my car in and then not even have them work on it for the f'n, rest of the day. Now my car is there over night.
There excuse in that there are only 2 dealers and there are too busy. Then feed me this line how people are just getting there cars from winter storage.
They start feeding me this bs about how the check engine light is so hard to diagnose and that it could be many things. But I am like well if the god damn cats are blown don't you think it narrows it down.
They also tell me DFC is just as busy and has the same poor service.

Rant over.

I'd check out an independent as well, but I bet you'd get better service from Downtown. I will never go to Pfaff and my (limited) experience with Downtown Porsche has been great, although at this point, it's been more sales than service.

How does the dealer diagnose the CEL:
1- Plug the reader
2- Read the code
Voila, takes 2 seconds. Pfaff is giving you the run around... Take you car to a reputable independent shop (Autowerks, just around the corner from Pfaff).

Well I think Gregs car is still under warranty for emisions ( cats ) so unless independant are Authorized to do warranty work Greg is doomed to this display of pathetic customer service and poor customer satisfaction results. I guess not only the porsche club gives preferential treatment to their own.

Greg,
call Khalil Khan at Downtown Porsche and tell him I sent you. They have treated me exceptionally well with any warranty issues and I've never had to wait more than a week for an appointment. Pfaff...pfft! Useless, arrogant, expensive, etc...need I go on?

Clive,
you're right! Hell they even screwed up shift into spring this year by restricting it to PCA members only! How stupid is that?!? No, we don't want any prospective customers because we're too busy treating our current ones like crap!...

Is that better Clive?

greg,
you've had the cats replaced a couple of times so far havn't you? i remember you mentioning this problem last year too. is the car running rich? thats a lot of cats to go thru...and its not even powered by dorito's on a stick

As for service/installs:

Pfaff tuning is pretty good (anything I can't import, give pfaff tuning a call. my friend oliver just started working there and i can dropkick him to the sternum if he treats any rennlisters poorly Jon is also a nice guy).

if you're going in for warrenty work...downtown is very co-operative and friendly. Khalil is the man. only caveat is that you really need 2 watch out for their massive ramp. i have no clue how they get the cgt up that thing...must be black magic..or act of God really. Everytime i get up that think without scraping i say Allah Hu Akbar.

and last but not least....Courtney at autowerks is fantastic with installs, which i'm now farming out to him since we can barely handle all the mazda tuners comming in now, let alone subspecialise in something else. Courtney is like jesus with suspension settings too. A+. He's getting pretty busy these days but in all fairness he's only got 4 lifts and i think 5 people there so book ahead

Sorry to hear Greg. That really sucks. The Porsche community is small, I don't understand how they continue to get away pissing people off.
Man...Good thing my car is out of warranty.

Yes the only reason for going to them was for the cats. I hope it ins't running rich, they have never told me it was for all the scheduled services I done or cat replacements I've done in the past.
This is the third time. Each other time it was only one of the cats and not both.
Really poor service. Maybe I should be buying a Lotus next instead of a TT cab.

Their prices used to be equivalent to US pricing after conversion. Now a 997tt stage I flash is US3500 (CAD 3730) and Pfaff wants $5000!!! I refuse to be bent over by those stiffs so I'll not darken their door again.
