964 vs 993
Since my 89 got trashed am considering a new cab. Any thoughts on which model to go for? Obviously (although maybe not) the 993 would be more expensive but a little more powerful and refined??
Looking for another 89 would involve going back to the US and not sure my heart is in it at the moment.
Thanks

since you don't have a trade, be sure to look in qc as prices tend to be cheaper. here's a link to a 1995 cab with 60,000 km for $36k.

Vern,
I would go 993 but I'm biased...
Just be really careful when buying. I had to go get mine in Kansas last spring. Not because it was really cheaper, I was just not able to find a clean car with a documented history here (including Ontario and Maritimes... )

I think in this situation it comes down to a matter of looks........both cars are remarkable for what they are. A really perfect 964 would be hard for me to turn down though. Like an RSA, Speedster or 965 turbo.
I have a friend who has a Canadian delivered and owned (in Toronto) 1989 white on black 911 cabriolet. To say that it's mint would be the understatement of the year. With 33,000 KM on it, you can expect perfection. Sport seats and factory short shifter are some of its options. Email me directly if you are interested at alon.gat@psionteklogix.com and I'll connect you with him.

If you are still in the mood for an 89 Cab, take a look at this baby. Ray @ RPM sells some of the nicest 911s that I have seen.

Sooooooo true...I did'nt bought my car in Quebec BTW... or in ON. The only car I almost bought in Canada was sold by a Toronto P-dealer. It had a solid accident but they never told me. I had it inspected by an independant place... they found the truth easily.
Bottom line: Buy a car with a complete history available and nothing replace a good PPI (even if you buy it from a respected dealer).
