Chris, if you want to come along and don't have your car out of hibernation yet, let me know and I will pick you up. I plan to be back by 1:00.

Cheers,

Chris:
Thanks, but I'll probably stay home Sat. morning.

Kirk:
About 75% of the way there. One is done, the other is right now all disassembled and soaking in parts cleaner. 26 ziploc bags all labeled with a letter and short videos of where each lettered part came out of! The real work will probably be tuning them once they're reinstalled.

Ice, That sounds like a good story to me.. and more so if you actually show up with a milk Crate. I might have one you can borrow, I use it to work on the dirt bike.. lol
You might need a set of aftermarket seat rails for that modification though, I'm not sure who maks them, you might want to try Sealtest

Gary,

Seat looks great, and back in the car. I have be 'lathering' it with oils (that sound's so wrong) and heat to try and soften up the leather. I think it's working, or at least it feels like it does, but it is a work in progress and will get better with time as I keep at it.

Kerry did a great job on the seat, and was under budget. I told him I'll be up there at some point this season that way he can see the whole car not just the seat.

Oh yeah, almost forgot.. the trip was great. We all had a great time. The kids are planning our next trip already!

Well Mark I may be using your seat buddy soon ... started off as a minor tear ... now I have it in so many bits I think the milk crate will be easier ... at least I have a set of hog ring pliers now .... I am hoping to get her back together for Saturdays get together .. getting fed up of being teased about showing up in the car with the biggest rear spoiler ( the remote lift gate on my caravan ) .

Good to hear Mark

With this good rain we're having I may get the car out sooner than expected, lets hope we have a beautiful spring and the salt is all washed away so we can enjoy!

I still want to get a nice couple pictures of our cars together being the same year and all....

Clive, are you replacing the seat cover yourself? When I had mine done, the repair itslef took minutes, but takign the seat apart and back together again was the long part (I think he said 4+ hours). Hog ring pliers! I'm not sure what those are, but I won't question it since you leave in farm country! lol

Gary, ever since you've mentioned the picture, I've been waiting for spring so we can get together. I think those would be great pictures.

yup, I think it would be a great one to enlarge and put on the garage wall... since the wife wouldn't let me put it in the dinning room

I'm itching to get out and was going to wait until June to get the car on the road but something tells me I won't be able to resist. Kinda like putting beautiful naked woman in front of you and saying " don't touch" ... no can do

The guy I used (Kerry Leblanc) has a nice garage out back, with a beautiful vette and Pontiac in there. He did a great job, was cheap, and seems to be a great guy to boot. He was very personable...and he's clearly into cars as well! He wasn't that close to me, but it was also a trust factor for me. I wanted someone who knew the person working on my seat. He does great work.
