I call replica on the speedster. no one would put Porsche crests on the side of a real one. and front bumper missing the rubber strip.
mind you he does have a 1957 black plate?

Good eye - but the side emblem (there's only one, on the right side) is not a Porsche crest and is in fact legit. See pic below from a 1957 356A Speedster that sold for $180K on BaT three years ago (https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1957-porsche-356/). And, here's a link to another 1957 356A Speedster that has the same emblem: https://uncrate.com/1957-porsche-356a-speedster/.
Neither car has a rubber bumper strip.

I have seen that badge now that you show it. the speedsters I have seen have had the rubber strip (sometimes aftermarket, sometimes original). most of the speedsters don't have that badge. If I drove around in a speedster no way would it have the hard top on it!

yes now I recall that emblem, although not on most that I have seen.
Also missing the strip above the rocker panel. most do have the rubber strip on the front bumper.
no way would I have the hard top on if driving a speedster!

Wouldn’t a certified appraiser in the group be able to help establish the authenticity of this 57 to the degree that the photos allow ?
