I resigned my job in the Maritimes effective in mid-October and plan to move to Grande Prairie, Alberta in early November.
Anyone out in that area have a p-car? Is the PCA active out there? Any good tracks?
Thanks - Marc.

Alberta bound, eh? I work with a few east coasters that have recently moved out here. (One from Halifax and the other one from somewhere in Newfoundland) They both say they love it here in Calgary. I think Grande Prairie is north of Edmonton?? I've never been there....but I'm sure it is probably booming like the rest of Alberta. Ya gotta love the fact that our province is debt free, and rolling in dough. I'm a real estate appraiser by trade....and I've never seen so many million dollar+ homes change hands so often as right now. The land of opportunity.....good luck to you!
Welcome Marc,
Definitely lots of opportunity here in Alberta. In Calgary there is growing frustration about the high cost of housing and inability of government to build out infrastructure and services fast enough. On a more positive note there are some spectacular drives into the mountains for you and the porsche. Enjoy your new home and I hope to see you around if you make it down to Calgary.

Thanks for all the info and welcoming, guys.
I certainly plan to get to Calgary to the track there as often as I can (although I think it is about a 7 hour drive from GP which is north-west of Edmonton). The closest track to me currently is about 4 hours so not a huge difference.
Yes, the housing costs seem very high there - we are selling our house in NB for about $300k and it appears it would cost close to $1M to get the same thing out west -- OUCH!
Oh well, land of opportunity, eh?

Marc,
Been to Grande Praire hundreds of time. Very nice city with chinooks similar to Calgary (warm weather bursts in the middle of winter). It's located 450 KM North West of Edmonton, and you will find Porsche's up in the region.
The Edmonton Porsche club uses the Nameo Land Force base sites for Autocross and such, and is a great club to say the least. http://www.pca.org/pol/ . Houses are expensive, but wages are high as well. What career are you in?
