I went through a 16 oz bottle of Rejuv my 1st year. I did about 5 applications & I slathered it on & worked it in. Used about 1/4 of that much cleaner.

I put it on to the point it was not absorbing it anymore.
And these are full leather seats.
I don't think I'll be doing it again for a while.
Noticeable, but not a huge difference.

Did you garbage bag them & let them steam in the sun for a day? My seats softened up quite a lot after the whole process.

As per Doug, I put them in the car, in the sun, for 2 days.
They got real hot!
Don't get me wrong, they are much softer.

How do folks here feel about Lexol?

Personally, I think it's typical over the counter stuff...nothing special.

I have used it on two of my cars, it seems to be okay for cleaning, or for use on newer leather. It did next to nothing to soften 20 year old leather.

I have heard many positive comments about leatherique and Zaino
I just applied leatherique about an hour ago, it is soaking in the heat. I will clean it off tonight/tomorrow and repeat again next week if needed.

I use Lexol to condition the leather then I apply some 303 Aerospace protectant to the leather dash surfaces. 303 has excellent UV protection and doesn't leave any sticky residue and you can find it at CDN Tire.

Just an update on the leatherique...


I let the R.O. bake in the 90^F heat for two days and the oil had mostly been absorbed/evaporated. A sticky film was left at this point.
Spent about 30 minutes cleaning with the pristine cleaner, using serveral rags since they quickly got gummed up with the sticky film from the R.O.
Final application of the P.C. left a clean, tack free surface.

Overall the leather has improved in regards to softness. I believe one or two more follow up applications over the next month or so will do the trick.

So far, I give leatherique a thumbs up. If repeat applications do not soften further, I will try another product.

I just did my 5th (?) application over 2 years. Soft (for thick leather) & nice looking & smelling. I will use nothing else. (Leatherique)

Count me in for some too. I've been using Lexol and have only been sort of happy wiht it. Plus - it stinks.

Hey guys,
On holidays and I'm usually only on-line at work.
Rally Guy, I think I'll keep what I have. Initially I thought it would only need 1 application, now that they have sat for a couple of weeks they are not as smooth.
Ian, you were correct in your idea of keep doing it.
I don't know if the cleaner is doing anything other than removing the excess oil.
Do you use the cleaner everytime?

Yes. I use the cleaner. It cleans up the scum/tackiness from the ReJuv. I go through ReJuv at 2 or 3X the rate of the cleaner. Pristine seems to leave a 'polish' (for lack of a better word) on the leather, so make sure you get right into the seams or it can look funky at the edges.
