Marc....looks you're getting the best rate deal out of all of us! I'm with Sun Alliance...they were the cheapest I could find. Maybe I should give ING a call.....

37yrs old, 2 tickets (minor), 1mil liability, $5000 deductable. Premium is $1575/yr full coverage and appraised for $90k.

I keep fire/theft on during the winter and cancel the rest at end of November and it cost $25 for the winter months so with everything in consideration it cost about $800/yr. Not bad considering they want $1200 just for liability for my GSXR1000. Bikes are rated for the summer months only so if I cancel at the end of summer I get nothing back and the bike is only worth $8k... figure that out

if you look at your policies the largest portion will be accident benefits and liability. remember that if you get injured in your car or on the bike under ontario no fault you collect lost income and rehab under your own policy. regardless of what any of you are paying its cheap when you lose your car or get injured.

sorry...hosed?? how much do you get if your car is totaled or stolen and how many years does it take for the insurance companies to earn that back from you if ever? how much will rehab cost or long term care if you are injured in an accident? $500 deductible? thats rediculous too. if people would use insurance for only what they cant afford to pay to fix the rates would be lower for everyone

cjansen.........

Up your deductible to $5K or 5% and toss the glass coverage........you should be paying a lot less.

agree $500 is too low (maybe even ridiculous!). Never had a claim and didn't really consider a higher deductible but it makes sense.

cjansen....check Sun Alliance. They give special rates if you've been accident free for 7 years or longer....and 1 or no tickets in the last 3 years....

I was with Co-operators before...and switching saved me over $300 per year on my daily driver.

I'm 20 years old and i'm paying $450/ Month. That works out to about $5400 on my 2004 C4S. I have 3 Years of prior insurance record which is 100% Clean with RBC. I started with about $500 /Month on my 2000 VW New Beetle 1.8T when i was 17. But it had come down to about $275 /Month on my VW.

Why would you want to have a $500 ded on a Porsche? Many isurance co.s (mine incl.) will only do a % value for deductible for cars over $75K in value. Your deductible only kicks in on comprehensive claims and "at fault" claims anyway; $500 is fine if your car is your entire life savings and worth $12K. Save your money and raise your deductible on your pcar.

Agree that a 500$ is too low... BUT, when I asked what was the $ impact to raise it to 1000$, it was like only 75$ cheaper... Dunno how these guys are making their calculations but it's a little weirdo.
This was the first year I was shopping for my insurances. I was able to save 1600$ (total savings, 3 cars) just by switching to the new cie. I should have done that many years ago... :-(

This is a great topic and raises some great points. For example at what point would you drop collision alltogether? . All my cars I have no collision on, but am perfectly comfortable that if I write it off I just walk away. I am emotionally atached to my car as anyone else is , but I do realize that I am only driving a 15,000 dollar car .. and making a claim on my insurance I would really have to think about .. in other words I can live with a 15,000 dollar deductable . now If I had a new one such as you guys it would bedifferent. But it is all good discussion
