I'm going - gotta rack up some break-in kms on the new 330xi.

I agree - it's a bit low key - but always fun to see the cars that are for sale in the corral and the parts etc that are being sold by other folks.

For those who say it sucks - what would make it better??

Are there better Ontario events and if not- why don't we organize one? But that begs the question - what would make an awesome event??

an awesome event would be where it was worth leaving home to go to not just to kill time and have an excuse to put miles on a car. how about rides in a carrera GT for charity. a go kart track in the parking lot and stuff to buy that isnt knick knack junk or boring t shirts, how about a draw to win a day at a racing school, how about a concourse of vintage porsches., how about a bar b que or catering with food that isnt burgers or hot dogs, how about a section with tvs set up to show past porsche racing glory, how about bringing in a dyno to do runs, how about getting walter rohrl to visit the largest dealer in canada?? i could go on and on.... as well some cars we dont see all the time would be nice like race cars or porsche museum cars. porsche museum will lend cars to a dealer for display.maybe free onsite quick detailing, open the service bay for fast oil changes if people want them ( isnt that convenient on sunday) maybe reps from fabspeed etc to pitch their wares, have a draw to win 10% off MSRP on any in stock car......
no one thinks big in this city or country ever it seems.

Jason, thats a really good idea. Lets do it. We need a venue and a decent lead time to organize and pull together some sponsors but I think thats a great plan.

thats very kind thank you ( unless you are kidding??) but, shouldnt the biggest dealer in canada do it? or shouldnt PCA do it instead of fun runs and bad quality DE and skid pad stuff. if you want my help i will offer it but i have stuck my neck out in the past on these type of things and got screwed from track days to charity fashion shows. people suck..

speaking of dyno days, do u know if there's a company/race team that has a mobile dyno? that way we could have a trackday/dyno day or a some kind of event and get our cars tested up.

Lemme know what you guys are interested and i'll try to set something toghether.

yep, there are quite a few. in toronto there's evolution and i think 5star has one too.
i'm sure one porsche racing team has one. Sean hyland motorsport in woodstock has one.

Jason, I'm serious. I don't know the background on the Pfaff days got started but i expect your concept would require a larger sponsor participation, like maybe Porsche NA and perhaps a few more independants. Getting an audience likely means the event should be close to the GTA and has a program of varied interest, ie DE, or autox, and maybe something like a jeep jamboree, ( you take the GT3 I'll use the jeep). I like the idea of a charitity getting a benefit too. Some years ago two brothers made a New Years dare and that turned into the Oakville Polar bear dip now attracting several hundred participants and raising many thousands of $ for charity.

Back to SIS - I have to agree that's it's pretty low key and nothing really "happens" - but it was still a ton of fun. One of the most amazing parts is actually walking the surrounding streets - looking at all the parked cars - everything from 912's to 924S's and a 911 "supersport" - the only one in Canada.
