Thumbs down 993s and DE events - Dexter Events

Hi - There useed to be a lot more 993s at the track just a few years ago...I do not seem to see as many going Dexter's open events.
Is there a reason for this...ie what kind longetivity are 993 guys seeing with their cars,? How many km are you getting before an engine rebuild? How much of the driving was just street or track (% or total km would be great).
I am trying get an idea on how the 993 do as well as what is reasonable to expect.
(Ie - are they spinning bearings at 20,000km? or 200,000km?

Thanks

its probably because the demographic of 993 buyers has changed. its not a car guys who want ultimate performance buy so you dont see many at the track anymore. they have become more museum pieces for many who have that air cooled nostalgia going on. on the other hand they are true dry sump engines and are the same block the GT3 engine is based on so they are pretty tough. ( even if most 993 drivers are bald, gay and have funny licence plates)

No..I am still in love (with my GT3) - I just wanted to understand the longetivity of the 993 (since I find it difficult to get raw info on those sensitive issues) when driven hard.

Issues with the 993 are Vale Guides... due to the material Porsche used they tend to wear quickly over time... SOme see wear as soon as 50,000kms.

A lot of 993 guys are replacing their guides with Bronze Maganese or Bronze Phosporous material. The vales are then honed to fit... and issues will not be seen again.
