Default Upcoming DE Skidpad Apr 8

I am signed up for this but have a few questions.

Is a helmet, fire extinguisher, tech inspection, and car numbers required for the intro/skidpad DE course?

My rears are at the wear bars and I don't feel like putting on my summers for the event. I would rather wear them down a bit more. Am I required to have more tread to do the event?

Yes ... look at the UCR website for the required equipment and minimum standards. They also list the tech inspecton sites as well.

Yes. part of the Tech Inspection.
Hope this helps ... see above in bold.

Assuming you're registered for the Into course ...

According to the UCR site,
"Non-Porsche automobiles are welcome for these events and no special safety equipment is required for these Introductory Driving Schools*."

I believe that the intro course at Shannonville in August, however, requires the mandatory stuff because it is a mix field.
Good luck and have fun!

I don't belive you need to do anything to your car.
You don't even need to bring a Porsche.
Bald rear tires would make a "real" skid course.

Thanks, looks like the 1 day intro course only requires a car and maybe a helmet.
Though I need to get the other stuff anyways but I don't need it until a DE event.
My winter rears are on there last legs so I will probably do the skid pad with them and then spend a couple days with psm off and tearing the rest of them away before they go away for good.

just an update:

Nothing required, not even a porsche.
But it was a blast, my winter tires left my ride loose, maybe to loose but it was a lot of fun who says the C4 understeers has never driven one.
It was definatly worth every penny!
