Default Toronto area meet!

I've now been the proud owner of my 911sc for about a month and have been watching this forum for even longer but don't really see many group rides. It's unfortunate I missed the meet in July, but would really like to get out and see some of you guys (and your cars of course )

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm just trying to see what kind of interests there are. Also if there is an upcoming event that people think would be suitable, maybe we can do it as a group!

Here's hoping I started something

even if you don't have any ideas, post a pic or two

ALMS at Mosport on Labour Day w/e. Pfaff has a tent and I think a lot of Fiorano and Daytona Motorsports types will be there.

Sounds like fun - I am up in Markham and there are new of us "newer members to rennlist" that would love to participate in some sort of meet.

Are tickets still available for the Mosport ALMS event? Can someone get details? I've been itching to watch some races on Speed but they seem to be blacked out all the time. If I could hitch a ride up there *hint alon*, I wouldn't mind joining.

u_slow, I'm moving to Markham (Woodbine/16) this fall. House closes at end of month then some renos. Having hard time finding available contractors right now though, market is so hot they are all busy.

Default Get Togethers

I know the local PCA group meet the second Tuesday of each month, plus they organize "fun runs " through the entire summer. picking different areas each weekend. A whole bunch of Porsche's cruzing around. My car won't be readty till the summer anyway.... a few incidents with the OPP not allowing me to insure it untill then !

Screw the fun runs. I'm going to organize another run to Manitoulin Island for late September/early October. That last one was an absolute blast.

I have done 2 fun runs this summer with some Pelicans in Southwestern Ontario. It was a blast & great people. Cambridge to London & Hamilton to Port Stanley.

The biggest problem with a Toronto area run is where to go? We have to drive for 1/2 hour to get to any roads not clogged with traffic. The best roads are all up in the Kawarthas or Muskoka. But I'm up for anything.

Yes, Toronto is always congested but there are great roads around, all within one to two hours away. So who's going to organize something? Like I said, I plan another Manitoulin run but that's not a single day trip.

Alternatively we could do a casino run to Rama....great roads up there

Cool

Scholz996,

Yeah, that was probably me

Feel free to honk and get my attention, I would

As far as organizing a run, I ride a bike too and there are some good clean roads (some twisties) to the west that are quite popular (for bikes at least ) that don't see a lot of traffic.
