Urgent! Where to buy helmets in the GTA?!
I need to find a helmet urgently in the GTA. I have a shoei helmet right now but its like 10yrs old so I doubt it meets any of today's safety std. I am looking for Snell SA2000 compliant helmets if anyone has any suggestions. TIA!!

You're welcome to borrow my helmet (Bieffe carbon/kevlar in 7 1/8 I think) as long as you find a cloth insert to use on your own head (like those used at Go-karting places for public helmets) or figure out how to prevent our head-sweat from coming into contact with each other's. Beyond that, I have a friend in Markham who distributes OMP helmets and I can connect you with him but not in time for this weekend. I live in the Avenue and Lawrence area and will most likely be in Mississauga for a good portion of tomorrow. let me know what you think by responding to this post, emailing me directly at agat@rogers.blackberry.net or calling me at 416-930-7405 anytime.

Try any Cycle World Bike shops. They carry a wide assortment of helmets that are approved. There is one on Sheppard Ave E. Check the yellow pages.

Alon, thx SO much for the offer!! Much appreciated!! However, just got an email back from the PCA guy and he said I can still use my M90 Shoei helmet (its like 10yrs old!) for the autocross.
Anyway, I still need to buy a new helmet as my old helmet won't be allowed on the track so I'll keep the OMP in mind. Now I just got to decide on which brand and which model.
But thanks again for your offer and your help Alon! btw, 7 1/8 would have been perfect since my Shoei is a small which is exactly 7 1/8 according to the sizing chart.
oh, one more thing, I keep seeing your old C2 around Richmond Hill!!!

I picked up a Shoei last year at Mcbride. If you want a real race helmet though (for cars), you probably want a Bell or Simpson. Not sure who carries Bell, but I think Manthey Racing (Oakville?) carries Simpson.

Just went to CSC Racing in Newmarket to pick up some racing gloves. They also carry Bell helmets as well as the HANS system, if you're really keen. They are Just NW of Davies and 404.
