Hello everyone;
I was quoted $1500.00 for the 48Km service on my vehicle. I am just wondering if you would know what exactly is involved and if the price point is about right?
Also since the warranty, with respect to my vehicle, is not an issue I am wondering if another qualified mechanic can do the job.
I have a 2000 C2 .
Your help is appreciated.
Patrick

Not that I have any experience with the 48k service but $1500.00 for any kind of regular service seems high to me... but then again, without asking beforehand, I took my car to the dealer for a simple oil change and ended up with a $300 bill!!!

I don't know what is involved in your 48k service but I did the oil change myself in 45 mins at a cost of about $75 ($15 filter and $60 for 9 litres of Mobil 1). With basic tools, most servicing can be done yourself, if you're interested. I was quoted $250 to put in a dual distributor vent kit, did it myself in 20 minutes after buying it for $15. I am no mechanic either....I don't even play one on TV. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I believe, after informing myself, that it is basically the first major tune-up for the vehicle. One of the major items involves replacing the plugs. How difficult will this be if I do it myself?
Cheers and thanks
