Default long winter withdrawls?

I just purchased my porsche 930 in October and managed to put 700kms on the car before putting it away for winter. I find myself going in the garage at least 3 times a week to sit in it, smell the leather and imagine what it will be like to drive the next summer on some nice road trips. How many times are you going in the garage to just sit and stare at your car? Maybe it's better I don't even look at it all winter instead of torturing myself.

It is better if you don't visit it because you'll just torture yourself. Dream about it and shop for mods for it all winter long. Spending a ton of money on it all winter long should help.

The best thing to do is get about $1400 together and do a whole season of Ice Racing!! That pays for everything including car usually....

I go visit my car every couple weeks, drive it down the block, and sit in it and smell the leather, and feel the steering wheel and shifter....
I can't wait till spring when I graduate and I can drive it full time! Till then I will just look for mods and fix a couple annoying things.

If the video on this page (http://www.chevettesonice.ca/Photosandvideos.htm) is any indication, ice racing could be the most fun $1400 you'll ever spend. For the summer, $1400 doesn't even pay for a set of MPSC's

I just can't help myself going into the garage. I find myself taking the cover on and off so much that I decided to leave it off. No money for mods right now, have to pay for the car first. besides the car is 100% original other than tires and I think I should keep it that way. It's a factory slantnose and it's nice to say it's all original when asked. I will just replace the factory AM/FM cassette deck with something nice. Factory stereos in these cars suck.

I used to ice race my VW fox, it was a blast! I was winning one race when my hood flew up on the windscreen and I could only see through a small opening in the botom corner. There was 2 laps to go and they black flaged me but I still kept going and ended up second place. They threw me out after that

Sounds like a nice car, post some pics! Ice racing does sound like a lot of fun and I have a friend who goes religously every year but not for me, not this year at least. If I did go, I'd go in style with a Fiero 2M4 outfitted with body cladding made out of steel!

I'm on my 5th winter now and have gotten used to the withdrawl. I still go to the garage to check it out and to fix the odd thing. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING can beat the first day you get her out in the spring. Those who drive theirs all year just wouldn't know what it means (except the first day they got the car). I quite enjoy the winter but have learned to break it up a bit for example. From halloween, I have my son's birthday in early December around the time I take my Cab off the road. Two and a half weeks later it's Christmas. Then 5 days till my birthday and we go skiing in VT. for 10 days. Three weeks later, I go golfing in Florida for 5 days. Two weeks later I go back to VT. to ski for 6 days with friends (no wife & kids on this trippp). Then 4 weeks later I take the family back to VT. for 10 more days of skiing. Four weeks later, the Porsche comes out for its spring test drive. See what I mean?

Enjoy the winter and it goes much quicker!!

Hey,

If any of you guys here in Ontario want to check out Ice Racing you are certainly welcome to come by and I will take you for a ride. I am not very good at it, but they do allow passengers!!

It is on every weekend starting January 15 I believe... ending the last weekend in Febuary. I will give more details if you are interested.

I already have a second driver, sorry. But I may know of an available ride...

Dead-eye,

It is door-to-door racing. You will hit another car almost every lap.

Check out the Ice Race forum -> http://racing.kos.net/soloforums/for...php?forumid=28
