Default Japanese Translation.....

Does anyone here read Japanese? I have purchased a Japanese 928 and the maintenance records are in hand written Japanese. I thought I would try this forum first. Help would be greatly appreciated.....TNX

Hello Alon and Fryd....Alon , it is a Euro model with the 32 valve V8 Left hand drive
Fryd, there are a few pages but I am interested in only two right now. Those are the last two records in the booklet. I found it hard to figure out the dates of inspection. I can fax or scan an example and send it to you if you wish. It sure would be nice to find out if this vehicle really was part of the Matsuda Sports Car Collection of Japan, as thats is what is on the maintenance booklet. It would also be nice knowing if the vehicle was serviced by the museum or Porsche Japan etc.Thankyou for your reply and if you send me a PM I will send you a jpeg of one of the workorders.
Thanks again.......Bill

Bill - tried to call you yesterday, but there wasn't any answer. Let me know what time works and I'll have my colleague call you (late afternoon would be preferred).

Ski-do all fired up, board waxed and edged, new exhaust on the van, winter tyres on the 944, I'm as ready as I'm going to be, as for settled, I'm not sure how long it takes 2 people to settle into a 3700 sq.ft. house but we have everything in...............one room pretty much. Just as well it has a huge garage as I have killed yet another box in the V8 auto, well it's hanging in but not for long, seems to overheat quickly. I guess your locking this one up for winter just in case.

Adie...I haven't recieved the 928 from the west yet. It was having the timing belt and a tie rod replaced before shippment to Ontario. It is at the Porsche dealer in Calgary. We had good timing when we delivered the 928 as the dealer was just receiving his first GT-3. I have pictures of it off the transporter and the delivery people wearing white coveralls and the covers on their feet. It was quite impressive. When they started the GT-3 it really sounded mean. I would compare it to a Formula racer in sound and I don't know what fuel they burn but it didn't smell like gasoline...more like pure alcohol...if I've done it right a picture has been attatched..........Bill

Bill, I can't read Japanese, but I can recommend two things:

1: Find an english manual off eBay or order one from the dealer.

2: If it was registered and inspected in Japan, it probably has the excessive speed gong tone relay installed. (required in Japan and South Africa) It's just a pop-in relay in the fuse box that makes a hella-annoying sound when you are speeding (above 140kph i think) . If it's there, you can remove it with no ill consequence.

Hi....noticed the note and cooresponding theads re: Bill and his Japanese import 928. I brought a 1987 S4 over from Japan in June this year...silver/black leather....its really a German import into Japan, so its a ZZZ car. I had the Japanese Manual as well, but ordered the proper one for the european model. My car has 110kms and is very clean....it was definitely a garage queen, and still is for that matter. As it is bone stock, am doing the RMB, wheel/tire thing, and think i might have to do a fuel injection brain as it has some issues. Anyway, good luck with the Japanese import....in the BC interior looking forward to spring.
