Default Seeking Recommendations for Insurance for 2026 Cayenne in Quebec

Hi, I currently have a 2011 Cayman S registered with TD Insurance. I'm paying about $900/yr for $2M liability with $1k deductible. I've ordered a 2026 Cayenne S Coupe that should be arriving in a few months. I called TD to get an estimate. They quoted me $2,800/yr for same $2M liability/$1k deductible. They also said they would not insure the vehicle without 3rd party tracking installed. I think I need to shop around so I was curious what others here have. Any recommendations for insurer and what 3rd party tracking do you have (or is there a way to get around this requirement)?
Cheers, and thanks a bunch.

Did they define what tracker they mean?...something like TAG is not an active, always on tracker but requires you to have an engraving on driver's and passenger's window. Tis is only activated when you report the vehicle stolen. Obviously some people do not like this .

There are other trackers that record your driving habits and the insurance company has access to that information. Evidently they can adjust your premium depending on how they judge your driving in that case. I would certainly not want this personally. I have TAG on all my cars and it does not affect my life , but its a personal choice.

Thanks for the reply. They did mention Tagtracking as one of the options. When I bought the Cayman I got something or other (parts etching or something ... I can't really remember now) but I didn't want anything added to the car that would draw power from the battery. Even in 2011 it took calling around before I got an insurance company that didn't require 3rd party tracking. I'm totally against these big brother systems insurance companies are trying to blackmail people into with incentive discounts so I'd like to avoid whatever 3rd party solutions I can. I also thought $2,800+ for the Cayenne was too much but I've no way of knowing if that's competitive or not. I just called Beneva (I have my Ducati insured through them). Their quote for the Cayenne was even more expensive but they didn't mandate a 3rd party tracker.

i have a cayenne gts 2025 and i pay a lot to get it insured with intact. but i dont think it's a crazy price. i had to put tag on it.

i went with beneva for my new acquired gt3 with no tag.
