Default PCA membership discounts at dealers?

Hi:

I understand that PCA memberships get ~10% discounts in few of Porsche centres in US. Does anyone know if there are any discounts in Porsche centres in Canada? (Especially for service / maintenance)?

Thoughts appreciated.

Thanks

In my experience, members get a nominal discount typically on parts. Furthermore, I cross shop around dealers as prices vary for the same exact part.

Personally, I have never received a discount on service but it's likely because my vehicle qualifies for the "classic" service rate. Discounts are at the discretion of the dealership, so it's best to always ask your parts and/or service advisor.

Yes, parts only. I don’t think I've received the discount on labour on a service (for example). I stand to be corrected though. Usually when I get the service bill I glance at it, try to forget the number immediately, jump in the car and get the hell out of there LOL.

I've received discounts on services twice, 1) Regular 'annual' maintenance 2) Coolant flush and fill... I've also received deeper discounts than the10% at the parts department, its seems to be at the discretion of the parts person.

10% should apply to parts and perhaps service labour. I don't recall what's been applied on mine. You may have to ask and should see it as a line item on the invoice.

FWIW, if you buy Porsche classic parts you won't get the PCA discount along side that... at least I have never been able to.

You have to really stay on top of them if you want the discount... We had a $6500 service bill they forgot to put the discount on and then wouldn't go back and adjust it.

My parts guy at PCNT applies the discount automatically and without me asking (and my PCA membership is expired too, haha). I also got a discount on my last two service appointments on the GT3 + Macan last year but they did it as a flat discount number so not specifically tied to labour vs parts.

Same experience for me.

Same for me at PCNT as well. I think they have on file that I'm with PCA UCR.

I recall one of the service advisors showing me the price difference between the classic and regular rate. Even with the regular rate and the PCA discount, the labour was like $40 more than the classic rate (at the time.)

Unless you want to pay $40/hr more to see the discount on your invoice, I suggest you just send me that money instead.

Haven’t been to dealership for service recently as we have good selection of independent shop in Vancouver which use OE parts or afyermarlrt if you make the request.

Good advice on cross-shopping OE Parts, the 3 dealerships in my area have 10% price difference on the AOS i was looking at.

Ah, the good ol' AOS.

I had to cross shop when I had to replace mine last year but thankfully it was just the stupid hose. The pricing discrepancy was in the range of +/- 10% across four dealers.

I think in Vancouver you now have the one on Terminal Street, the one in Richmond, and Langley, if I'm not mistaken.

Yep exactly, I frequent the Richmond location out of convenience and their helpful staff. Then I called around for the AOS. We have a Weissach dealer here which sells OE parts too which has same price as dealer.

Doing a little spring maintenance before I take her out for summer season. (AOS, injectors, and Battery Y-cable.)

My 997.1 should qualify for the "Classic" rate for service / parts at the Dealer so I will keep that in mind in case I need to bring it in (hopefully never)
