Default 911 Extended Warranty Cost

Hi, recently purchased a 2019 991.2 under CPO. Dealer price for extending warranty beyond the 2 year CPO warranty is:

1 yr - $4000 + gst
2 yr - $5600 + gst
3 yr - $6995 + gst

I assume these rates are negotiable, I'm leaning towards 3 years to average down the annual cost. Is there any benefit to paying now versus waiting until the 2 year CPO runs out, would there be an inspection fee required to extend the warranty at that time. Any feedback is appreciated, thanks.

Those prices are much higher than I was quoted on my 992 in 2024.

1 yr - $2465
2 yr - $4245
3yr - $6035

My understanding is that the price is the same for a 911 regardless of year. I'd call another dealership.

I agree with this post. These are the MSRP's and with room to negotiate. Whats in it for the dealer is a longer term commitment for maintenance / service as well.

As Onami suggested, check it out with a different dealer.

Thanks for the feedback, part of me is thinking about holding off on extending to see how things go over the next two years.

I’m also thinking about getting a tune done, and there would be some risk with warranty issues.

Any tuning will invalidate the warranty. No questions asked... So you may want to consider your preferences... Warranty or Tuning (and having maintenance done in Indy shops).

Definitely shop around, I saved over $500 by doing so.

it's insurance that almost nobody needs but the people who did need it are thankful that they bought it. I was in the same position and decided not to purchase it and added the tune and dsc instead. outside of the 50/50 water pump failure rate, which I had, and was fixed for free, the car has been perfect. just remember that maintenance and items considered cosmetic are not covered so unless your engine caves or the pdk goes out there aren't very many items that will make the expense worthwhile.

I can check my receipt but this 2 year number is roughly what I paid on my RS in 2024 from PCNT... it used to be roughly $2k per year but it went up slightly the last time I renewed. $4k per year is complete BS so I would try another dealer.

For sure 4K for 1 year is a joke. I’d buy 2 or 3 years if I pull the trigger.
