2k must be pads/rotors, sensors and fluid, passed cpo but that is only good for sales. Not saying they don't need to be done since you should actually look at them your self. They may have been at the limit of good but just passed the limit of could be done but yet still have 1 year on driving still left on it
A 911 and Macan are different beasts. 911 driving on the street brakes with brakes that are meant to be driving on the track could last many years driving on the street and the the Macan could only last 1 or 2 years driving with city stop and go traffic and a heavy foot, its brakes would last a couple hours at the track.

According to the docs, looks like some water got down in there but nothing about how the wires became exposed. Can’t imagine it was rodents though. Firstly they would never have covered it, and secondly my 997 sat in that garage every winter for 10 years with no problems.
