Yeah this is incorrect. Just one example but I had ceramic coating on my RS (done by a detailer) and since it was stored in a garage the ceramic was still in great shape after 5 years. For our outdoor/street parked cars I've seen ceramic last at least 2-3 years with regular maintenance.

Big difference of course between a spray on product one can use at home versus having a professional detailer do a full paint correction + ceramic coating.

If you have ceramic coating, wash car by hand or with touchless car wash. Brush car washes degrade the coating.

Mine was done by a detailer in 2019 - daily driver, garage stored. It still looks very clean when washed (by hand or touchless), but I feel it is time to re-apply.
Thanks!

If it isn't beading as much as before you could try either something like CarPro Reload or get your detailer to do a maintenance wash + ceramic refresh... on the latter, apparently using a high PH soap along with a product similar to Reload will help 'recharge' your coating to get some more life out of it.

Depends of course on what coating was used and the condition... 5+ years of life is pretty good though. If you go the reapplication path definitely get the paint corrected as part of the process.
