But money talks. If the next gen can’t afford or don’t actually buy the cars they are enquiring about, the hobby dies. Knowledge only goes so far, the hobby only stays alive if the next gen are interested and participating in the hobby.
In my opinion, younger folks aren’t obsessed with cars like the we were/are.. I was dreaming and scheming of how to get the car I wanted and how to mod it from before I could legally drive. I don’t see that excitement or yearning from the next generations. Maybe I’m not close enough to it but my nephews and my oldest son have me thinking the hobby is doomed..
Younger folks will be interested in the virtual cars they grew up with, from driving them in their games. Mitsubishi EVO, Subaru STI, HELLCAT. Not Macan option in GTA.

cars usually peak about 30 to 40 years after production. the cars the guys wanted in high school they can finally afford when 40 to 50 years old so they bid them up then after house paid off and kids school is done.
Looking at my teens & early 20's nephews, "wrenching" refers to computers and video games, not cars.
Those with cars don't care. If the car breaks down...call mom.
