Default Help with First 911 purchase

I am looking at a 2015 991.1 turbo in vaughn from Apex motors. I am in Montreal so I want to do my DD before heading out there.

The CarFax comes back clean but there is no service history. How would I get the service history?

The dealer also won't let the car leave the lot for a PPI, is this normal? They didn't mention I can send someone to take a look there? Is that doable?

Anything else I should look/do before making a offer?

Lastly are the 3rd party warranties good/effective? for me its a big purchase and not having a warranty is be worrisome?

Ive bought 3 cars from Neal at Apex 2 Cayennes and a Q5 for my mom. Hes a standup guy and moves volume as he prices things fairly. That Turbo is a good buy I was looking at it myself.

Third party warranties aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. Self-insure or move on.

I can’t speak to the dealer or warranty, but I wouldn’t buy a 9 year old car without a ppi.

Agree. If they won’t at least bring the car to a shop of your choice for a PPI, move on and don’t think about it again.

Ask them if a month long test drive to find the items that should show up during a PPI is acceptable to them then. 🤣

No PPI, move on. Full stop.

^ This. And the fact that they won't allow a PPI is suspect.

Porsche PPI only.

CarFax won't list undisclosed accidents and you need to measure the paint. Harder with PPF.. Last few dealer PPI cars that came through our shop were pretty terrible and many items missed. 10 year old car you are better off going to a good indy vs dealer.

I can do an onsite PPI, checking the paint thickness, signs of wear, fluids, etc. A carfax with no service history is also a flag. Was it always an Ontario car? We can also pull a UVIP from Service Ontario to cross-reference the provincial records.

Thank you for the kind words. I am moving to a larger shop soon and will be expanding services to include PPI's, enclosed vehicle transport, and so on. More news to come before this spring.

OP - happy to help, shoot me a DM and we can talk further.
