WheelsCo experiences?

On December 18 or 2023 I ordered a set of Apex VS-5RS wheels for my 18TT thru WheelsCo out of Vaughn. I was told at that time that it'd be April or May before I saw them as they were backordered from Apex. No worries as the car was in winter storage.
Just to keep the fire stoked on Feb 20/24 I pinged them asking if they had any updates and they replied that it was still looking like mid-April. I thought "Cool, still on track..."
On April 19 I'd not seen nor heard anything so I again pinged them for a status update and this time got no response. I decided to just wait.
On May 10 I again asked for an update. This time I got a response the next day telling me "Apex had just shipped wheels out and that means should be able to see them within the next 2 weeks!"
May 24 came and went and so on May 30 I again pinged them for a tracking number and have heard nothing back.
I'm beginning to have a sinking feeling I'm not going to see these wheels or my money again but want to hold out hope: I'm wondering if anyone else can relate their experiences with WheelsCo?

its not Wheels Co its Apex Wheels thats the issue - i deal with them daily and its a painful experience - you haven't heard from wheelsco because they don't have any information because apex takes days to respond - this is the expected experience with Apex Backorder

You're probably right about Apex; I actually pinged them too to see if they'd shipped anything corresponding to the SKU that I ordered because WheelsCo told me back in mid May that "Apex had just shipped wheels out and that means should be able to see them within the next 2 weeks!"
I haven't heard back from Apex either.
le sigh...

Contacted Apex directly via PM here. Brandon indicated they shipped the wheels last month. On the phone with WheelsCo; they claimed "wheels are stuck at the border, agent on vacation, will be here next week..."
Asked about refund options because if they're not on a truck to me next week I will be pursuing that avenue. Question was not answered, rather was again told "They'll be here next week..."
Smells super-fishy to me but there's exactly zero I can do at this point but wait.

Just out of curiosity, are you saving any money by buying from WheelsCo vs directly from Apex?

Looking at the Apex website, the set I ordered would be US$3836. Using xe.com, that is CAD$5243. Factor in HST and I'm up to $5925. This doesn't include shipping or brokerage fees etc.
I think I came out ahead, if only by a little, going through these guys. The downside is that I ordered the wheels before Christmas of 2023 and still don't have them...

Hopefully CBSA doesn't go on strike as they are threatening to do and cause additional delays!

Sounds like garbage to me.
If they shipped freight, via ups or fedex they have their own customs clearance department. There is no border agent on vacation lol. Ups used to or maybe still does have their customs holding/clearance facility near the airport on dixe if remember. If they actually are sitting in limbo at the facility yhe receiver can always go and self declare the shipment pay the duty/tax and take the shipment. This eliminates the need for a broker.
I've done this a few times in the past as some broker fees on freight coming from Europe gets stupid real fast.
Anyway, id get a tracking number so you have an actual idea what is going on and how to proceed. If they cant provide one I'd say your screwed.
This is another reason I don't dick around with these drop ship companies. If they can't produce the product in 90 days to bad. Refund or credit card charge back.
Call me when it's in stock or avaliable to ship.
you've waited over half a year. Let that sink in.

I would have called the credit card company a while ago. You must have a ridiculous amount of patience.
