I am with CAA insurance and I just received a letter advising that my car was identified as a high theft risk, and they will impose a High theft risk premium surcharge of $1500. wth, that is almost what I am currently paying.
They gave some options to reduce the surchage, like at 100% with an after-market engine immobilizer, at 50% with an ignition cut off system, and $500 off with a steering wheel lock, brake pedal lock and wheel&tire lock.
anyone else receive similar with their insurance?

Last year we were told we'd get a 40% increase on our RX350 unless we installed the Tag tracking system (which the insurance company covered).

What's the car?
I'm also with CAA and have a quite-often-stolen truck. Dreading this outcome.
Was the $500 off for either one of those locks, or do you need all three simultaneously? I have the steering wheel lock, plus keys in a faraday box, placed in a thick safe, well away from any doors...

Yep I am being charged $500 surcharge for my 2024 Ram truck. I'm with Aviva. If I install the TAG system at a cost of $300, they will waive that surcharge. I am not a big fan in installing this, its a GPS with its own power source. I guess that is why its only good for five years.
So the way its supposed to work, when I notice the truck is stolen, I then must call the police and they will give me a case number, I then must phone TAG out of Montreal, tell them its gone , give them the case number, then they will do what they do. By then its gone anyhow. It only works in North America.

My FiL had to install a tag type system (he got it at Speedy) or else his insurance was going up $1000/yr. This was on a mild hybrid 23 Honda CRV. He lives in small town Ontario (Goderich)

I could be wrong but it feels like small- and mid-size SUVs are more of the theft target than high-end sports cars, at least for the crowd that operates in volume, jamming them into containers to be shipped to points in the Middle East and Africa.

Interesting to note that the Corvette shows up on the list of ten least-stolen vehicles list from the same source.
Any insurance company that claims your Porsche is a "high-theft" risk is gouging you.

My 2016 Tundra insurance is $1,100.00/year. I was going to buy a 2024 and the insurance is $2,000.00/year. I did the quote on-line, so I can see them coming back with systems like mentioned above on top of it.
As much as I hate paying paying for insurance, I can't say I blame them. Enough is enough.

Anyone know if these types of 3rd party immobilizers and ignition cut off system have any impact to the car or Porsche warranty?
Looks like to get a full 100% rebate, CAA wants one of the following: CAN-Phantom, Ghost II, IGLA, or VIPER 3105V. In addition to the cost of installing one of these, I am not sure what impact it will have with Porsche warranty?

It's hard to assess real risk, as this list is sorted on absolute numbers... There are a lot of CR-Vs and Rams on the road, so not so surprising that the total number of thefts is high, but looking at that "top-10" list suggests that a Range Rover is more than three times as likely to be stolen as the "number 1" CR-V. Too bad that the source for this list just has these top-10s, what would really be interesting is to see the actual rates for all cars on the market. I expect that this is what the insurance companies look at.
Would love to see a full breakdown for each model...
