Cop told me thieves don't want EV's or hybrids for all the economic and practical reasons, nor will they take manuals because the young thieves don't know how to shift. My next-door neighbor's Lexus SUV was stolen but dumped a couple of blocks away when thieves realized it was a hybrid. So GLWS.

 

Sometimes they do that on purpose, to see if someone comes to get it. This is how they test if the car has a tracking device.

 

That's what I'd do if I were a thief but not in this case. Neighbour had the car back same day. They would have taken it further and hidden it a bit if they were testing for a tracker.
