Default Rebuilding 3.4L 996 engine

I’m thinking of rebuilding it now as trying to find a good donor engine has been a little annoying. My buddy is going to do it for me. My head is cracked and there was intermix.

what should be my grocery parts list?

This is the general Canadian forum
Go to the technical forum for your model and there will be more information than you know what to do with. especially for the 3.4.

For 996 engines, two good (and inter-related) places to start are:

LN Engineering: https://lnengineering.com/shop-by-mo...rsche-996.html

Jake Raby/Flat-6 Innovations: https://flat6innovations.com/

Reading both these sites and the various links, videos etc. will give you a good primer on the M96 engines. As Ice said, then ask in the 996 forum for specific advice.

Rebuilding these motors can range from just doing the needed repair, to including a lot of improvements. Some are for performance, but some (specifically IMS bearing options and Nikasil bores) are great longevity upgrades, that are certainly worth considering "while you're in there"
