I'd say 100hp

I've posted this somewhere, buy here goes anyway

100 hp for a motorcycle. I have 115 hp gpz900r. Plenty fast
100 hp in a lotus 7. Ditto
100 hp in a family car. I had a 100hp in a saturn wagon. Fastest long distance car I ever owned due to short infrequent fuel stops
100 hp in a westfalia. I have one with 86hp but 100hp would improve it

Exactly why I look for RANGE when buying everyday vehicles because gas stops don't waste 5 minutes, they waste far more time than that.

My R1150 GSA would easily do 550 kms and my R1200 GSA LC can do 600 kms on 30 liters. Hey, these aren't no toys.

Not sure about the relationship between range and fuel consumption. There is another option that I generally fit when available:

90 litre fuel tank which I have on the track cars and also most road cars. I drove the Panamera Toronto to Philadelphia recently.

One fuel stop.

In general with really long distance drives fuel is a non-issue. Stopping for coffee/bathroom etc is the determinant of range. I can get 700k if I feel like just cruising. I have a Smart diesel with excellent furl consumption but I like my trips to be effortless and have a fair amount of reserve of performance.

No issue if people prefer 100hp. Perfectly legitimate choice but not my choice.

40 years ago 100hp in my 914 yielded a max speed of 115 mph. disappointing.

According to road an track, the 2 litre 914 had 91 hp and a true top speed of 119 mph. The speedo would have shown approx 125 mph. Perhaps with 100 actual hp it would have been able to do an indicated 130. I remember my'72 bug with 60hp would cruise at an indicated 95 mph
