I could get Open Track coverage, but it's too costly on the market value for the number of days I'll track this year. You have to buy annual coverage for Canada, which used to work out to a good deal at over 8 track days when compared to purchasing local track insurance by the day.

Needless to say, I am now insured with one of them and paying less than I paid Intact

Unless something has changed in the last year, which I don't believe to be the case, if you are doing HPDE you are insured (although running slicks or other non-street legal mods might add complication). I know of numerous payouts over the years (not mine). Racing is another story.

If that’s correct, that’s new.
Or perhaps there are a couple companies offering policies outside of the norm. HPDE used to be covered 20yrs ago then every company I was aware of excluded any damage incurred on a race track, regardless of if it was in a race or HPDE.
Seems very strange to me that HPDE is now covered by anyone, but good on you guys for finding coverage that includes it!!!!

I have CAA as my insurance provider and up until 2022 I had track insurance coverage under my policy. In the fall of 2022 I received a letter from them saying that they no longer provide track coverage.

Hmmm...I am not aware of a track exclusion document from Hagerty in last year or this year's renewal.
Regardless, Hagerty will cancel you as a client if you tell them you are going to the track. At least that's what their reps told me.
