Lying in court would seem to be a bad idea.

I haven't yet signed up for a court appearance. As I said, zoom does not look like a promising venue. If you are there is person, things are a lot more informal as far as talking to the prosecutor is concerned

In a physical court, I could hope that the guy who signs the ticket does not show, and I could walk. If a trial I can also ask questions about how the whole thing works.

They post the calibration certificates online:

I got nailed on your Highway 407 express a few years back when i was going from Mosport to Oakville at 13:00 on a Friday afternoon to rent a gearbox from Ernie at Mantis … his wife told me to get off the 401 and take the express highway.People were passing me doing 140 kms per hour and i got a speeding ticket for doing 115-120, i guess it was the Quebec licence plate 🙃
Couldn’t figure that one … anyhow , i did the smart thing and paid !

Cheers
Phil

would be nice to have it in real time, rather than have to plan your route.

There are smallish signs, but I'd rather drive a reasonable speed and keep my eyes on the road

A guy got that type of ticket dismissed here in Vancouver by claiming that because the “beautiful British Columbia” on this plate was obscured by his plate frame that the plate photographed couldn’t be confirmed as being from B.C. Despite the fact that the numbers and the sequence and the car and the car color matched the plate, and he was local to the ticket, the ticket was dismissed.

There's speed cameras on the 407? I didn't think we had any highway speed cameras anymore at all...

Camera traffic enforcement is the first step to Elysium. Elysium is a Matt Damon dystopian movie where brutal a robot police force dispenses "justice" and I think is the best prediction I have seen for the future of this planet

Wall-E is more accurate.

Not difficult to avoid. They have warning signs, coming soon signs and Waze is excellent though not perfect.

no points and just a fine. I would simply pay it.

The one time I got nailed was on a rally and I was concentrating on a time deficit. I deserved it.

I got a speed camera ticket. 41km in 30/zone. 75 bucks.
I paid it. Stepsister laughed at me. Zero compassion.
then she got two. CARma.
