Yup - I ran C12 in one of my cars (it is the VP Racing equivalent to the the 112 octane leaded Sunoco Supreme that the pump at Mosport carries) and have actually bought a drum of C12 from presumably the very same gentleman from Cornwall that advertises in Inside Track Magazine. You definitely don't want C12 in a street car, but they most certainly love the 260 GTX (98 unleaded).
He carries 98 octane, i think it’s the spec fuel for the roundy round local dirt track boys …
I bought a drum once but the fuel was red, too conspicuous in clear white VP fuel jugs , makes people talk at the track !
100oct from the pump I don't think it exists in Canada unfortunately. If you are stock, you're wasting your money. If you have a tune, then yes, you could up the boost and timing.MS109 is is about 100oct, its pricey stuff. Shell 93 Oct is the best fuel I could find around Alberta and BC.
I'm just looking for no corn syrup 94. If I need to pay for higher octane, I'm happy to but realize going over 94 provides little if any benefit on the street. Looks like marinas may be the answer.
Out west we are blessed with corn-syrup free 94 at every Chevron. Just one more reason to leave Ontario, if you needed one.
It's not necessary for all gasoline sold in ontario to contain ethanol, just most of it. It would be possible for an independent in toronto to sell E0, if they felt there was money to be made. The ethanol is a federal reg, not an ontario one.
The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks regulates the amount of renewable content found in gasoline sold in Ontario. Starting in 2020, fuel suppliers must maintain at least an annual average of 10% renewable content (such as ethanol) in the gasoline they sell in Ontario.
You must comply with the law if you supply gasoline or diesel fuel to the Ontario market.
You are considered a supplier if you:
manufacture diesel, blended diesel, gasoline or blended gasoline — and use or sell it in Ontario (wholesale or retail)
import diesel, blended diesel, gasoline or blended gasoline into the province — and use or sell it in Ontario (wholesale or retail)
acquire diesel, blended diesel, gasoline or blended gasoline through an inter-refiner agreement — and use or sell it in Ontario (wholesale or retail)
Suppliers must meet the renewable content requirements for the volume of fuel they have manufactured, imported or acquired through an inter-refiner agreement and used or sold in Ontario.
For example, an independently-owned retail station in Kingston:
sells 1 million litres of gasoline or diesel at its outlet
of the 1 million litres sold, 100,000 litres of gasoline or diesel were imported from the U.S. directly by the retail station
the other 900,000 litres of gasoline or diesel sold were already placed in the Ontario market by the wholesaler that supplied the gasoline or diesel to the retail station
The retail station must only meet the renewable content requirements for the 100,000 litres it imported directly and then sold (placed in the Ontario market).
In other words, that independently-owned retail station in Kingston in their example can sell all the Ethanol-free fuel they want depending on where it is sourced. This is nothing new - it has been in place since 2020. It's exactly how the pump at Mosport continues to legally operate, and they don't sell ANY fuel that contains Ethanol.
