Windshield pinhead marks
Ok so it happened. A rock flew up thrown by some idiot in a VW who did a last second dive to an exit from the 401 in front of me crossing over the gravel that seems to be a product of our never ending construction.
The car is a '22 boxster, 6000km
It was one stone, but it left 4 marks. People on forums talk about pinhead marks, but all the respondents talk about bullseyes and cracks. I know that pinhead marks will not turn into a crack, but are unsightly. In the sunshine, you can see these white marks from 10 meters.
I've cleaned the spots and polished, but they still show as white marks. I've got a couple of ideas that I can try out on another car. These are clear lacquer, crazy glue, or perhaps black or grey lacquer. Perhaps a bit of resin? I tried clear lacquer but it made no difference
I'm guessing the white is the disrupted crystalline structure of the glass.
Anyone out there tried something that works?

Sorry to hear. This is exactly the reason I have STEK windshield PPF on my car

A suction cup resin treatment at a glass shop will fill those in. Pay the $25 deductible and your insurance will be happy to pay the balance

These are tiny imperfections that didn't show up on photographs.
You are right tho, I should go to a glass shop and see what they have to say.

Worth a try I would think.

Finally was able to make a picture. The flash caused it to really reflect. The pic makes it look worse than it is. The 4 spots would fit into a square of dimensions 1 cm.
There is a resin I'm going to try to get from an outfit call GlasWeld. It's a bit pricy and there are many variations, so I'm going to first see if a glass shop has it. The other spots are just dust
