Default June 2023 - Costco Waterloo still has ethanol-free 91 Octane

I can confirm through talking to the pump jockeys and my own testing that Costco Waterloo (Erb St) stlll dispenses ethanol free 91 Octane for those that are in the area and care.

I mainly care for my outdoor power equipment.

7mL of water at the start of the test.

7mL of water present after adding gas from costco and mixing vigorusly in graduated cylinder and then waiting for it to settle out.

(Caveat: I was not able to get the solution to go milky while stirring in the graduated cylinder The gas and water did not emulsify. Maybe it's not supposed to, or I need to mix in a different container)

Very interesting to know... Did the people you spoke to have any idea if this is something expected to continue in the foreseeable future?

Not really. I did overhear them say that the Guelph Costco pumps have ethanol in the 91 fuel.

I will redo the test soon. I mixed the gas/water vigorously with a bamboo skewer in the graduated cylinder but I couldnt get it to emulsify. Next time I will either get a stopper for the graduated cylinder and shake it, or transfer it to a bottle to shake it up good.

I do believe it is ethanol free, just want to be sure if I'm going to make trips out there for that purpose.

The Queensway Costco in Etobicoke also say that their 91 is ethanol free but I haven't tested it.

I usually have around 150 litres of fuel at the cottage. I just buy regular for a whole bunch of reasons, not just cost. This year, first time ever, I dumped the fuel in my jeep, and bought fresh. I will say that all equipment did start much easier than in previous years. This approach didn't cost me anything either. I have all sort of equipment including 2 stroke boats, lawn equipment etc.

Costco waterloo no longer has ethanol free 91. Confirmed with the attendant today. New stickers on all the pumps.

Probably. But we'll be in Arizona in January and my neighbour will have access to it if needed.
