I am not sure how you would sell an allocation actually . I generally assumed they were not transferable.

In any case if I can’t get a car at MSRP I am not interested.

Most of these big premiums fade away after the next ,latest, hottest most limited edition shows up.

There will be a gen 2 RS and maybe an ST and so on; then the prices will moderate fast for present models and if you bought at the top you will take a hit.

Damage control.
Cars so sought after that they show up at the dealership 1 month after delivery with a few kms on the clock but now with a mark up. Please go and sell your story to someone else.

I laughed at the response as well. The idiotic games these dealers play is well known when it comes to allocations. Making customers jump through hoops like trained seals, sign ridiculous contracts all to get a coveted and limited GT3RS. 🙄 I wont even touch upon the mob like MSRP inflation games. It's no wonder many "new" model buyers are giving the brand the finger like others have mentioned and moving on to other brands like McLaren etc.

In the States the stealers hit you up front in the face with the $100k+ ADMs but I guess in Canada they are a little more cunning and get their pound of flesh on the back-end (low trade-in values, buying watch, buying service packages, etc).

In the end it takes two parties to do a deal.

If people refused to pay outrageous premiums and the cars just sat on the floor, there would be a rapid readjustment. This is not a new thing. I recall in 2002 I wanted a new Mercedes SL 500 and there was a very strong market for them. I was offered one at $20k over asking. I waited and got one at list a year later. I am not criticizing people. If they are willing to pay silly money then its their dime, but I would not do it personally.

lol I like that acronym but ADM is actually an unauthorized markup. Essentially its just an ADMin fee added onto the sale. That way they can report to the OEM that they haven't violated their agreement with them.

Not really any different than forcing you to buy accessories, warranties, nitrogen, vin etching, etc. They're all add-ons so they can get their pound (or metric ton) of flesh while still reporting that the car was sold at MSRP otherwise they could lose future allocations.

As Ronan stated above, a fool and his money are soon parted if you are foolish enough to get caught up in the silly dealer games. The fact that OEMs dont hammer these fools speaks volumes as well.

Damage control would be necessary if there was truth to that ad. The ad was false and anyone out there that was misrepresenting the dealership has been dealt with. I cannot speak to how other dealers choose to do business and conduct themselves. I am here representing Porsche Centre Oakville only. Anyone on this forum that has actually transacted with our store knows that we operate honestly and with integrity. There are no games or BS as implied in this thread. Again, I can only speak about Porsche Centre Oakville, not other stores.

I think most here know that a single purchase - albeit an expensive one - would not get anyone even close to being able to buy a GT3 RS. 2 years ago I was told by my SA that someone needed a minimum purchase history of 6 new P-cars to be considered for a GT car allocation. I suspect those wouldn't be 6 base Macans

This seems like a damage control post, and you go on to say that the party involved in this 'misrepresentation' has been dealt with...again, damage control.
Assuming this is PCO, I wouldn't say that you don't hoperate with honesty or integrity, but I have had a discussion with a member of your management team who walked me through the process of how you choose who gets a GT car allocation, and it isn't really any different than other P-car dealers.

Feel free to share your process though, I'm sure many of us would be very interested to hear it, and it would make for quite an interesting discussion.

Lol you expect them to be upfront and honest about how they preferentially treat some vs others. Deep pockets and regular recurring revenue customers win the allocation game hands down. The rest of us schlubs are giving them interest free deposit loans on GT cars for however long they intend to keep you waiting with a glimmer of hope and dangling on the end of the hook. Unfortunately this process seems to be on non GT cars as well. Read the reviews on Google etc.
