Are you suggesting there will be shortages of gasoline in the near future? I can’t see that happening. Oil is still plentiful and refining infrastructure is in place. It may get more expensive but it will be produced for many years to come. The rules around ICE are affecting new car production, nobody is going outlaw existing cars!
if they can ever figure out electric cars, demand for gas may drop and as property values rise there may be better uses for gas station land and then it may become hard to get it delivered or price may be high, Or regulation. One day they may ban ICE cars from certain areas such as downtowns or may ban human driving cars because computers will be much safer...one day that I am not looking forward to btw.
Winter/ daily for my wife is a Golf R MK8 and I have to admit with its’ AWD - heated and cooled seats . Heated wheel ..335 hp and simply solid performance all around…it’s one nice car.
I'm enjoying my '22 GR Supra 3.0 WAY more than I thought I would. It just might be the ultimate "hot hatch," although I expect few people would look at it that way. So far it's been a hoot as a winter car as well with its Piot Alpin 5 boots.
It's such a nice car. I was blown away by the quality feel, power, sound and decent ride. Had one for a few days on extended test and man was I tempted... just kinda tight for me at 6'5". Incredibly value compared to 2X the money for a Carrera S..
Wow, looking at the prices of some of these, I sure am grateful for my minty GTI
More research required for sure
How much space do you need?
If you can find a 15/16 Audi a6/a7 TDI, that would get decent fuel mileage... Diesel is now almost at par with Premium. A few months ago it was 50% more than regular.
That was on my short list before going on the infinite waiting list for the i4m50.
If you like the GTI so much, why not just get a Golf R?

I was also thinking Golf R since you seem to enjoy the GTI a great deal. I do agree they are both great cars.

Yup, I was on a waitlist for one (2022) and gave up based on the lack of availability at the time and the transition to touch screen controls which just sounded like a PIA and a step backwards from what I have. Will have to investigate and see if things have improved?
