PCCM+ upgrade for 997

annoying that porsche does not support android on some models, like my 718 and supposedly macan. I really don't feel like buying an iphone. My android phone is plenty good, and I'm not interested in apple idiosyncrasies.Wonder if a retrofit will ever be offered

I think that conclusion is a bit pre-mature. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2022...ndent-company/

It's refreshing to see a manufacturer to continue to support past models and offer OEM upgrades and solutions years after the model has been discontinued. Few of them do. Having said that, I am seeing some chatter that the screen resolution isn't the best on the PCCM+. This is one gripe that I can relate to having upgraded to an aftermarket (Joyeauto) Apple CarPlay solution on my 981 GT4.
On the one hand it's so nice to finally have Apple CarPlay and all the functionality that it brings. On the other hand, I'm constantly reminded how bad and dated the screen looks every time I look at it. The colours look washed out and everything is so grainy. My son asks me if my car is really old every time we go for ride when he looks at the screen. I will say that it's way better than having no CarPlay at all.
Wonder if they chose to reuse the original 997 PCM cores and thus retained the original resolution of these screens rather than updating it to a net new hi-res unit.

Has anyone purchased the new PCCM+ for the 997.1 from a Canadian dealer? Just curious as to pricing and availability. I definiately want to do this in my 2007 when I goes back on the road in late spring.

Not sure of pricing but was a bit under USD 1500 plus installation at dealer. I have reserved one for my 997.1RS also. Will check the pricing.

Just noticed that Downtown Porsche have listed it on their website for C$1,916.42 (about US$1,450 at current FX rate). Anyone order one in Canada and got a better price than this?
