Hey Danny,

Great question! Ngenco PPS is permanent so there's no re-application necessary like any coatings out there. The technology has a rubberized layer which makes it peelable so that you can peel off at any time without any risk of damage to your Porsche's paint. Typically, people peel off only when the film is damaged. It is applied like paint, so masking is required for best results. In terms of price, it is different depending on vehicle--I'll send you a private message for more details.

Would this coating work on the top sheet of downhill skis? I just got new skis for my son and I and I was going to have them protected with PPF.

Wondering if this is more durable than PPF. And how it works in cold temps.

Cheers

What is the ballpark price for a 991 or 992? Understand there are variables but feels like you should be upfront given most know what a full-body PPF with Xpel runs these days.

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/...=136&t=1759882 Seems pricey when compared to PPF

That thread is pretty old though. Pricing mentioned was in a 2018 post.

Since we have the vendor here they should clarify what full body coverage would run us in Canada.

Hi Vise,

Thanks so much. We definitely aim to be as transparent as possible and without getting too technical, there are definitely variables. Some of these include masking, removing panels, difficulty and the vehicle itself. Typically, we range from $8000-10,000+ on a full vehicle for clear protection.

Thanks! If it is closer to $8k that potentially makes sense vs full-body Xpel... to me though without more first-hand reviews or experiences with the product I'd still stick with Xpel for now.

Interesting product. What happens if the car has existing rock chips on the hood? Can it be filled in first then sprayed over? Would the chip still be visible? I'm thinking about the "original paint" vs resprayed argument that's sometimes discussed.

Hi Adam,

Apologies for the delay here. We haven't fully tested putting Ngenco on skis, but at first glance, it may affect the drag?

Hey Vise,

We completely understand that reviews and experiences matter. Ngenco is new to Canada, but our friends in other parts of the world have been installing it for some time. You can check out Cardip UAE or Topaz Detailing to name a few.

With existing rock chips, there are two options available:
  1. Filling in the rock chips and then spraying on clear protection with Ngenco. This is a great option if the overall hood/affected areas are in good condition and the rock chips aren’t a huge concern/very visible.
  2. Spraying the areas of concern with an OEM paint matched colour. With Ngenco, there is an option for full colour change. In this instance, we would just match the vehicle’s existing colour, and spray on so that the rock chips are covered. This is a great option if there are rock chips peppered all over the hood.

Interesting this is coming to our shores. This is being done in the UK by at least 2 shops for at least a couple years. Not sure on the material brand being used.

Neat concept for any colour and protection. I presume the option being offered here can be done in any colour.

That's part of the premium you pay, colour change (and any colour), multi layers etc etc.

Quality I am guessing is going to be dependant on material used, prep, application and finish. Like a paint job.

Ya, I would do it on the top sheets only, not on the bases. I just reviewed the new equipment and both sets of a rough surface so it may not work. I tested a small patch of PPF and looked funny due to the texture.

But thanks for getting back to me.
