Default Just another boring flying related video or two…

One of the most fun things about flying an amazing aircraft like the Global Express (the Porsche of biz jets) is going into remote airfields to drop off your passengers. This weekend we flew into an airport about 100 miles north of Granada Spain and this airport’s runway is very special with 3 different slopes in it… Most runways are basically flat with almost no slopes on their entire length and most aircrafts are certified to operate with a maximum slope of 2%… well this runway goes to the limits 3 times as can be seen in the airport’s runway cross section diagram.



In this video we are landing on runway 10… we are basically “flaring” the aircraft into the downhill portion of the runway at 1.9% before it climbs right back in your face at 2%…

In this video we takeoff on the opposite end of the runway, runway 28… You cannot see most of the runway that lies beyond the hump ahead of you because of the 2% upslope…

these are vantage points anyone rarely gets to see....

so who is running the phone when you guys are landing the plane ?

Nice to know the aircraft I spent 20 + years working on is the Porsche of Bizjets...

I should have taken a pic of my 911 parked beside a GX....
