Default Way OT: Cdn Tire website is so slow...

Whether I'm looking for oil on sale, or some ATF or Power Steering fluid to fix my miata project or today trailer wiring to fix the lights on my rusty 20yr old utility trailer..... The website is so slow.... has been that way since the 1st Covid lockdown....

I can't be the only one....

It's meh...I wouldn't say painfully slow, but it's definitely got some bloat to it.

yup, it is slow. As is Home Depot….What type of internet do you have? Dsl? Fibre? Cable/coax? LTE? Provider?

I will also say that my sat internet link at cottage at times would not load canadian tire or home depot due to latency. Luckily I now have LTE at cottage.

I assume same slowness on different devices?

Works okay for me in the GTA and I was in LA a few weeks ago browsing it perfectly fine. Friends and family also confirmed okay and they are in Vancouver.

Bigger thing is that their stock levels are not reflective of what is actually in the store - if it says they have 6 or less of something it's 50/50 whether it's actually there.

And I know they 'might' just have sold all of them but when the stock levels are steady for a day or so - you go to the store, nothing there - get home again, check online... yup they still say they have 6!!

They need a better IT guy!

i find CT web presence outdated, bloated slow and generally useless... I find it easier to just drive to the store... It needs a complete overhaul. I don't even attempt to use it any more.

Corp owns it. The team we have at the top just now is nothing short of phenomenal. I'm sure they'll get it sorted.

It’s difficult to find people to run their DOS system.
While I do try and support them, online ordering sucks.
Order, pay, get confirmation, two days later order is cancelled.
Either no inventory, or they say they called and no one answered. Which is bs, as the phone never rang for p/u.
If there is no stock? Where is the option to wait for stock to arrive?
Where is the alternative item offer? Out of stock for mobile 1, how about pennzoil synthetic?

Most of my CT attempted purchases, get moved to Amazon. Trying to support local.

Sadly true for me also , i love supporting Canadian institutions and always loved CT , but they just slowly became another big box store and pushed me away. I remember the days you could misc nuts and bolts from bins of metric hardware, one of these two of those, and a handfull of deck screws in a paper bag,

Now it seem thats all gone and its just leased space and everything prepackaged, .. maybe it isnt but that's just how it seems.. CT used to be my first choice, now if i cant find it anywhere else i guess ill check there...
